A letter to my future self

Most probably you would have cursed your past self, do you want the same thing with yourself in the future?

I have written this letter in a single sitting while I was completely lost in the moment a.k.a. flow state. Thankfully I jotted it well before it was faded into nothingness. Initially, I had no intentions of publishing it online, but just like writing it, publishing too was an impulse action. By the way, I think the letter becomes more relatable when you comprehend it as if it’s being written by your older self.

Hey V!SMAY,

I know you may, just like me, one day, when you would be feeling low, you’ll imprecate your past self, “me”. This is my presentment, to defend myself and to make you realize that I have always been on your side. Hope this letter acts as a medicine for you to feel better about yourself, about me!

Causality in time has made us look different but we are commutable, you are directly affected by my actions which are being executed keeping you in consideration. It’s funny how you can feel me but it can’t be vice versa. Keeping an eye on the same, I want to clarify something, you can’t feel me from my perspective, nostalgic feelings perpetually introduces noises in the way, blurring my true nature. I request you not to curse me for my mistakes. I have made you competent enough to realize them, isn’t it a big achievement? Feel proud my boy!

Right now, you may be thinking that I have done my work and I shouldn’t muscle in your life. This ideation is perfectly logical, I agree I am not as mature as you are, but isn’t it a win for me! “It was me who was wise enough to meditate on your better, it’s YOU coz of ME”. That being said, you should acknowledge your younger self. You should be cognizant of the fact that he, the “I”, wasn’t in the same environment as you are, but still he fought, to make you what you are today! I have been working hard just to make you happy, I have been giving up on my desires for your prosperity, enjoy the pleasure you are getting because of me.

Remember how you presented your new year resolution to your friend, “I needn’t have an explicit resolution coz I think this is the best I can give to myself… Preserve your good elements and keep exchanging the foul breath with the fresh ones!”. I hope you understand that wasn’t just said, it is being implemented every day. I hope you praise me for it. Do continue the same legacy so that our future self will bow down in front of us.

Time isn’t far when the history will repeat itself, I know you will think of drafting a similar letter for your future self. I would say just don’t. You are already making good efforts and I’m damn sure your future self will embrace it, he has to, coz you are developing this quality in yourself, the quality I have ignited in you. Hence, such a letter will denote my failure, my incompetency to give you something you always needed. This day won’t return, don’t make this day just another one in your life, use it in a way that your future self will be compelled to write a letter for you.

I can’t wait for you to re-read it 10 years from now in a completely different way than today! Do award yourself if you like it.

I love you, ’Til Infinity and Beyond. Do you?…shhhhh… Whisper it!

Anticipating your ink.

Eternally yours,
-You
(But the old one…wheeee)

I guess some people might classify me as a psycho talking to himself…XD

I have set a reminder for 10 years from now encapsulating this letter. It will be interesting what my 30-year-old version will say about it. Hope I will then write a blog expressing my views on the same.

I found this experiment very interesting and would definitely recommend you to try it. Your letter can potentially bring a smile full of tears in your evolved self, and as of now, writing it can relieve your tension.

Thanks for reading! Do clap and follow me for more such content.
